Meet Bucknell’s Newly Tenured Professors

September 28, 2018

The University recently awarded tenure to eight faculty members, elevating their academic rank from assistant to associate professor. Tenure recognizes professors for meeting high expectations of teaching and scholarship, and signals the institution's commitment to their continued academic careers at Bucknell. The newly promoted faculty pursue knowledge in diverse fields ranging from multicultural education to visual cues for speech and language.

"The conferral of tenure is essential for the well-being of the University and our faculty and students," said Robert Midkiff, interim provost. "This achievement is recognition that a faculty member has consistently demonstrated excellence and rigor in their teaching and pedagogy, has built a body of scholarship that peers deem valuable, and has been a good University citizen. These newly tenured colleagues have demonstrated that they embody the teacher-scholar model to which we aspire, and the University is confident that they will continue to excel in the classroom, in their scholarship and in their contributions to Bucknell."
