An audition with the Bucknell music faculty is required for applicants to all music degree programs at Bucknell. Please carefully review the information on this webpage to ensure a positive experience during the audition process. Please direct any questions about auditions to the academic assistant to the Department of Music, Brenda Ross (bross@bucknell.edu).
Audition Checklist
Early Decision applicants must submit application materials and satisfy audition requirements by Nov. 1, 2025.
Attending an audition and interview with the music department faculty on the Bucknell campus is required of each music degree applicant for acceptance into a music degree program and for arts merit scholarship consideration. The "Music Audition Form" (see below) needs to be completed and submitted at least two weeks before the requested weekday audition date.

Regular Decision applicants must submit application materials and submit the "Music Audition Form" (see below) to the Department of Music between Sept. 1, 2026 and Jan. 10, 2026.
Attending an audition and interview with the music department faculty on the Bucknell campus is required of each music degree applicant for acceptance into a music degree program and for arts merit scholarship consideration. Invitations to officially attend an audition will be offered to all candidates judged eligible following the Office of Admissions academic pre-screening process.
Each Regular Decision music candidate has a choice of the following in-person audition dates and will select a preferred date in the Music Audition Form:
Bucknell's Arts Merit Scholarships range from $2,500 to $20,000 annually to selected first-year students who plan to pursue studies in art & design, art history, creative writing, dance, film/media studies, literary studies, music (major or non-major), or theatre (performance or design and technology). Financial need is not a requirement, and the scholarship is automatically renewed for second, third, and fourth years as long as recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet the requirements of the program.
