Faculty Grants

The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Gender (CSREG) offers grants to full-time faculty members for projects that support research and teaching on issues of race, ethnicity and gender and their intersections with other aspects of difference such as class, sexuality and nationality.

Grants

In support of its mission to support faculty development, scholarship and interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration, CSREG offers grants of $4,000 for summer scholarly development and curriculum development. The deadline to apply for summer 2019 grants has passed. Please check later for additional grant opportunities.

Reimbursable Funds

Funds to support reading groups, travel expenses, attendance at conferences and other research and teaching projects are available from CSREG throughout the year. The maximum award is $400. Examples of reimbursable expenses might include materials for reading groups, travel expenses, conference fees and expenses related to primary research (oral histories, interviews, photocopying and videography). Applications should be submitted to the center at least three weeks in advance of the proposed activity. The application should include a description of the proposed activity, its relevance to the mission of the center and other sources of funding received and/or applied for.

Funds for Co-sponsorships

The center offers funds to co-sponsor speakers and events related to its mission. Requests should include a description of the event, its relevance to the mission of the center and other sources of funding received and/or applied for.
