Executive Intern Program

Participating Offices

• Office of the President

  The intern assigned to the President's Office oversees the program at large and helps determine which students will be a good fit for each office.

  Interns for this office will also produce projects and deliverables to the administration to ensure that students' needs are adequately met.

   

• Division of Communications

  The intern assigned to Communications will get first-hand experience in marketing and media relations as they are assigned creative tasks in the areas of social media, videography, University website content and Bucknell Magazine.

  Students in this position will assist in promoting the University to prospective students, stakeholders and donors.

   

• Office of the Dean of Arts & Sciences

  The intern assigned to this office will oversee the T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) Peer Mentor Program by taking part in hiring and training new mentors and preparing materials.

  Interns in this office also lead the Dean's Student Advisory Committee and work to facilitate discussion on academic advising, student feedback and the T.E.A.M. program.

   

• Office of the Vice President of Library & Information Technology

  The intern assigned to L&IT will act as a liaison between L&IT and the student body to ensure that students have enough resources to achieve success in their academics.

  Interns will also work on initiatives to promote digital scholarship and research among students and educate prospective students on the possibilities digital scholarship can provide.

   

• Investment Office

  The intern assigned to the Investment Office will get first-hand experience assisting with the University's endowment and analyzing various factors that go into investing in and running Bucknell.

  The student will attend portfolio meetings with strategic investment advisers, and complete data analysis projects to best determine spending and investing.

   

• Human Resources

  The intern assigned to this office will assist Human Resources with initiatives that facilitate growth and development across campus.

  Interns will produce projects that will better enhance employee programs and efforts for employee recruitment.

   

• Office of Sponsored Projects

  The intern assigned to the Office of Sponsored Projects will identify grant opportunities outside Bucknell for faculty and staff to continue their research and various programs.

  In addition to assisting the faculty and staff, the student intern will create a newsletter that will serve as a guide to finding grant opportunities and create surveys to identify opportunities for new initiatives. 

   

• Office of the Dean of Engineering

  The intern assigned to this office will serve as a liaison between the dean and engineering students.

  Responsibilities for this position include assisting with projects that will allow students to use their academic experiences to benefit the entire Bucknell community.

   

• Center for Alumni & Family Engagement

  The intern assigned to the Center for Alumni & Family Engagement will focus on strengthening the Bucknell community through various projects and campaigns.

  The intern will assist in communicating with alumni and families so they are able to provide feedback for future alumni and family events while also helping prepare for Reunion Weekend.

   

• Office of the Dean of Students

  The intern assigned to the Dean of Students Office will assist the dean by helping create initiatives to improve student life.

  Responsibilities include conducting surveys, researching Bucknell programs past and present, and being a liaison between the students and the dean's office.

   

• Office of University Advancement

  The intern assigned to University Advancement will assist with initiatives that help foster a strong relationship between alumni and the University.

  The intern will also assist with research on donation patterns and ways to best use the Annual Fund.

   

• Division of Athletics

  This intern will help the Bison achieve victory on and off the playing field by assisting Athletics administrators.

  This student will have the opportunity to market sporting events, plan events, and manage both student tailgates and the Bison Nation student section.

   

• Office of the Provost

  The intern assigned here will assist the Provost's Office in providing a positive student experience that combines a liberal arts education with unique opportunities outside the classroom.

  Responsibilities will include research of student experiences at peer institutions, promoting initiatives that will increase extracurricular activities, and serving as a liaison between students and the provost.

   

• Office of the Dean of the Freeman College of Management

  The intern assigned to this office will focus on student experiences within the Freeman College of Management.

  By attending meetings with senior staff and communicating with students enrolled in the college, this intern will create initiatives that ensure each student has a positive learning experience.

  Note: This intern must be a student in the Freeman College of Management.
