Undergraduate Executive Intern Program

Participating Offices

• Office of the President

  The intern assigned to the President's Office serves as the student coordinator for the program, oversees the program at large, coordinates educational/professional development programming for the group and plans strategically for the continuation of the program in future years.

  The intern for this office leads weekly UEIP meetings as well as produces projects and deliverables for the administration. The student coordinator manages the recruitment process for the following school year. 

   

• Division of Marketing & Communications

  The intern assigned to Marketing & Communications will get first-hand experience in marketing and media relations as they are assigned creative tasks in the areas of social media, videography, University website content and Bucknell Magazine.

  Students in this position will assist in promoting the University to prospective students, stakeholders and donors.

   

• Office of the Dean of Arts & Sciences

  The intern assigned to this office leads the Dean's Student Advisory Council in the planning of projects to promote college unity and the creation of a shared College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) student experience.

  The intern also works to promote and improve the CAS Mentor Collective for the benefit of future generations of Bucknellians and their integration into life in the College of Arts & Sciences.

   

• Office of Information Technology

  The intern assigned to Information Technology (IT) acts as a liaison between IT and the student body to ensure that students have sufficient resources to achieve academic success. Responsibilities include creating and working on initiatives alongside Information Technology and attending meetings with faculty across the colleges and IT. 

  This executive intern also leads the IT Student Advisory Group (SAG), where they organize meeting agendas monthly and facilitate the discussion to gather student input on ongoing initiatives or issues related to IT. 

   

• Office of the Dean of Engineering

  The intern assigned to this office serves as a liaison between the dean and engineering students.

  Responsibilities for this position include assisting with projects that allow students to use their academic experiences to benefit the entire Bucknell community. The intern in this position also serves as one of the co-presidents of the Engineering Student Board.

   

• Office of the Dean of Students

  The intern assigned to the Dean of Students Office assists administrators within the office by helping create initiatives to improve student life.

  Responsibilities include conducting surveys, researching Bucknell programs past and present, and being a liaison between the student body and the dean's office.

   

• Office of University Advancement

  The intern assigned to University Advancement will assist with initiatives that help foster a strong relationship between alumni and the University.

  The intern will also assist with research on donation patterns and ways to best use the Annual Fund.

   

• Division of Athletics

  This intern will help the Bison achieve victory on and off the playing field by assisting Athletics administrators.

  This student will have the opportunity to market sporting events, plan events, and manage both student tailgates and the Bison Nation student section.

   

• Division of Equity & Inclusive Excellence

  The intern assigned to the Division of Equity & Inclusive Excellence works alongside staff, faculty and student leaders in equity and inclusion across the University, reporting to the Vice President of Equity & Inclusive Excellence. 

  This position includes opportunities to participate in university equity and inclusion projects serving historically underrepresented populations and closing equity gaps on campus. 

   

• Office of the Provost

  The intern assigned here assists the Provost's Office in providing a positive student experience that combines a liberal arts education with unique opportunities outside the classroom.

  Responsibilities include promoting initiatives that increase extracurricular activities and University programming, creating resources to improve information dissemination to students, and serving as a liaison between students and the provost.

   

• Office of the Dean of the Freeman College of Management

  The intern assigned to this office focuses on student experiences within the Freeman College of Management to support the Freeman DEI Alliance. This position reports to the Office of Experiential Learning in the Freeman College of Management. The student in this position must be enrolled in the Freeman College of Management.

  This position includes opportunities to participate in University equity and inclusion projects serving historically underrepresented populations and closing equity gaps on campus as they relate to the Freeman College of Management.
