West Branch magazine offers a semester-long internship giving students who wish to pursue a career in writing or publishing the chance to gain relevant experience for their future. Housed at the Stadler Center for Poetry, West Branch publishes poetry, fiction, essays and reviews three times per year.

Interns assist the editors of West Branch in all aspects of producing a publication, including screening submissions, maintaining a web presence and copy editing. The intern’s name will appear on the masthead of the issues to which he or she contributes. Interns typically work six to 10 hours per week. Interns will also be required to write a one long or two short papers on a subject pertaining to literary publishing.
Although the position is not paid, students who complete a successful term will receive one course credit.

The position is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors of all majors. Internships are available for the fall and spring semesters.
