Additional Notes: All core curriculum courses can count toward the major with the exception of the Foundation Seminar. Integrated Perspective courses can count toward the major if approved by the appropriate department.
Any 1.0-credit language course carrying the CCFL designation will fulfill the language requirement. Please note that Spanish 103 is the first course that counts for this requirement (SPAN 101 and SPAN 102 are not designated as CCFL).
No, Foundation Seminars and Integrated Perspectives courses must be taken at Bucknell.
There is no specific timetable for completing your core requirements, but we encourage you to take them early so you have the opportunity to explore a range of skills and disciplinary approaches that you might never have encountered before. This will allow you to make informed decisions about your future major, and it will also give you some intellectual depth as you develop in your chosen field of study.
Most students take the Integrated Perspectives course during their sophomore year. In cases where scheduling or study abroad conflicts prevent a student from taking the course in their second year, they typically take the course in their junior year.
In order to change a designation for a course on a transcript, you should consult with your adviser and review the possible impacts that this change will have on your academic progress. If the change seems appropriate, your adviser should request the change via the "Major Adjustment Request" button on your APR.
CCC: AP courses can only count toward the non-learning goals divisional requirements (NSMC, ARHC, SLSC).
CASCC: AP courses can only count toward Disciplinary Exploration courses, with a limit of 1 credit in each division (Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences & Mathematics).
Core curriculum designations are not retroactive. You can only receive core curriculum credit if a course is approved for a designation at the time that you take the course.
In most cases, courses will receive a divisional designation based on the department offering the course. Proposals must be submitted to the Arts & Sciences Core Curriculum Council (ASCCC) for approval for all other course designations.

The CCC/CASCC Adviser Report, accessible from the APR, is a very helpful tool. This grid indicates what requirement a given course is fulfilling (marked with an "X") and what other requirements the course could satisfy instead (marked with an "O").
