Drop/Add Information

**Waitlists will be purged on January 22, 2021. No students can be added to waitlists after this point.**

Students may make changes to their schedule by dropping classes and adding classes with open spaces without permission through the first week of classes. Instructor permission is required for closed courses and for ALL courses during the second week of classes. See Course Information for available courses.

All schedule changes must be processed before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021.

Undergraduate online drop/add:

Starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, January 25th – 11:59 p.m. Friday, February 5th, undergraduate students will be able to add open courses online in Banner Web. Registration pins are not required. Access to closed courses will require instructor permission. Electronic overrides may be obtained by sending your BU ID number to the faculty member attached to the course. Email permission can be forwarded to registrar@bucknell.edu.


Students are strongly encouraged to complete their course changes online prior to the February 5th deadline.

Starting February 8th: Instructor permission required for all added courses

8:30 a.m. Monday, February 8th – 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 12th

Starting on Monday, February 8, 2021, all course additions require instructor permission. Please email your completed drop/add card along with all required permissions/signatures to registrar@bucknell.edu.

All schedule changes (including section changes) must be filed prior to 4:30 p.m. on February 12, 2021. Any changes made after this point may result in a “W” grade.

Underload/Overload Approvals

If you are dropping below 4 credits, you must secure permission from your adviser and associate dean for a course underload.
If you are going above 4.75 credits, you must secure permission from your adviser and associate dean for a course overload.
