Fraternity Recruitment

Fraternity life provides leadership opportunities, peer and alumni connections, and opportunities to make lifelong friendships. Potential new members interested in joining a fraternity should spend time learning about the values of each organization and meeting as many members in each chapter as possible.

The University has a deferred recruitment process, meaning that students cannot join a Greek-letter organization until at least their sophomore year. This process allows first-year students to engage with their academics, acclimate to the University and develop friendships with other Bucknellians prior to joining a Greek-letter organization. The one-year deferment also allows potential new members to make a more informed decision about whether fraternity life is the best choice for their Bucknell experience. For more information regarding fraternity recruitment and chapters, see the booklet below or email ifc@bucknell.edu.
