Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment

Fraternity or sorority life offers a unique opportunity to join a community of leaders that has flourished on campus since 1855.

When you join a fraternity or sorority, you commit to being a leader and scholar at Bucknell and within the Lewisburg community.

Because Bucknell University strives for an enriched college experience, the University enacted a sophomore-year deferred-recruitment process for the entire Greek community.

This year of deferment allows first-year students to explore their academic field and foster meaningful connections on campus. The one-year deferment also allows potential new members to make a more informed decision about whether Greek life is the best choice for their Bucknell experience.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Sophomore year or later

  • 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher*

  • A student is ineligible to participate in recruitment if they are currently on a conduct status of disciplinary probation or greater

*Each chapter’s GPA requirements vary. Please see the sorority recruitment booklet for more information.

Fraternity Recruitment

Fraternity life provides leadership opportunities, peer and alumni connections, and opportunities to make lifelong friendships.
