New Student Move-in

Moving to college is a memorable and important milestone, and Bucknell strives to make it a welcoming, stress-free experience, every step of the way.
To help you prepare for your journey to campus, new student move-in dates and information about what to expect can be found below. If you have questions about the process, please contact orientation@bucknell.edu
New Student Move-in Dates
- First-year student move-in will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 8 a.m. to noon. You may arrive at any time during this window.
- Students participating in Pre-Orientation will move in Friday, Aug. 15, from 7 to 11 a.m., and will receive move-in instructions from their Pre-Orientation leader.
- International students will work with the International Student & Scholar Services office on individual move-in plans based on their arrival schedule.

Move-in Procedures
Directions to each residence hall are outlined on the interactive campus map and in the following section. When arriving on campus, please drive directly to your residence hall — there will be signage directing you to the different first-year residence halls and University and Bucknell Public Safety staff will be directing traffic.
When you arrive at your residence hall, Orientation assistants will welcome you, help you unpack your car and help carry your belongings to your room. While your vehicle is being unloaded, you will be able to pick up your room key and Bucknell ID. When your vehicle is unloaded, staff and Orientation assistants will be happy to direct you to parking.
Post Move-in Activities
After move-in and parking, be sure to check the schedule for more Orientation activities! Following a lunch and optional activities, Orientation will begin at 1:30 p.m. After a series of afternoon programs for parents and families, all family members and friends are asked to depart campus between 5 and 6 p.m. A welcome reception for first-year students will follow.
