Class of 2029, Transfer Students, Parents and Families

Bucknell offers a variety of online presentations about campus offices and resources for new students and their families. You'll have the opportunity to learn about a range of topics — from academics and career advising to dining, student employment and more. Mark your calendars and bring your questions to these Zoom sessions led by Bucknell faculty and staff.

Virtual summer information sessions will begin on June 16 and end on Aug. 5. Program details, including links, will be added to this page throughout the summer.

In addition to offering live Zoom sessions, we will record and post all sessions to our video playlist, allowing students and families to watch recordings on their schedule. Videos will be added to the playlist on a rolling basis.

This session will include an overview of Greek life at Bucknell, information about our sophomore-deferred recruitment process and information regarding signs that your student may be experiencing hazing. Join us as we debunk myths and explore what it means to be Greek at Bucknell.

This session introduces the vital role of Residential Advisers (RAs) at Bucknell. RAs are student leaders who build community, support their peers and help create a safe, welcoming home on campus. You'll also learn about Community Directors (CDs), professional staff who supervise RAs and are a key support for students navigating college life. Together, RAs and CDs are part of Housing & Residential Education, a department dedicated to helping students thrive through connection, leadership and meaningful experiences in the residence halls. Whether it's by solving conflicts, planning events or simply being a friendly face, RAs are here to support your Bucknell journey.

The video highlights four key areas: Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, where students can find community, leadership opportunities and lifelong connections; Campus Activities & Programs, which offers a wide range of events, clubs and leadership roles for every interest; the 7th St Studio & MakerSpace, a creative hub where students can explore their passions, innovate and collaborate on hands-on projects; and Outdoor Education & Leadership, which provides adventure-based experiences that foster personal growth, teamwork and a connection with our local, natural world.

First in the Family is a special series of virtual information sessions for families of first-generation students — as well as those who are sending a student to college for the first time. Running throughout the summer, sessions will be interactive and offer ample time for participants to ask questions.
