Welcome to Voice Performance at Bucknell! Vocal Performance Majors (BA, BAPF or BM) have a variety of options to choose from, including Bucknell Opera Theatre, participation in a variety of choral ensembles, masterclasses with current performing artists, lead roles in musical theatre and opera productions, junior and senior voice recitals, coaching and performing with guest collaborative pianists and conductors, wellness classes, music business classes and weekly studio class.

Our students have been selected as finalists in the National Opera Association Collegiate Scenes Competition, as Young Artists for programs such as Opera Steamboat and Taos Opera Institute, and have attended Masters Programs in Voice Performance at Peabody Conservatory, Boston Conservatory and Westminster Choir College, among others.

Vocal Health Initiative

The Bucknell Voice Area is one of the only undergraduate voice programs in the country that has a vocal health wellness initiative.  Collaborations with Bloomsburg University Speech and Language Clinic, Johns Hopkins Voice Center, Bucknell Student Health, and Bucknell Counseling and Student Development Center give our singers the opportunity to receive proactive and voice team reactive voice care, including laryngoscopies, speaking voice evaluations, performance anxiety discussions, yoga, and mindfulness training. Opportunities for student research is encouraged.

Study Abroad

All Bucknell students have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester during their time at Bucknell.  Voice Performance students have the opportunity to study in Austria or Italy where they can attend conservatories with private voice lessons, opera workshop, and recitals.
