Class & Grant-Funded Projects

Class Projects

Engineering students at Bucknell engage in design projects during their senior year. Some projects last one semester, some two. The longer the project lasts, the larger the project that can be tackled.

Each of these projects engages a small group of students with faculty leadership. The client meets with the team on a regular basis, usually weekly. The client will be responsible for the cost of materials.

Grant-Funded Projects

Grant funding for collaborative research and development projects may be available through programs such as the Ben Franklin Technology Partnership and the Manufacturing PA Innovation Program. These programs have funded projects with SBDC clients that span entire academic years and summer periods, allowing for an extended scope of work and design iterations.
