Field Stations

The field station network of the Bucknell Center for Sustainability & the Environment provides interdisciplinary research and experiential learning opportunities to Bucknell students, faculty and community partners. Students are able to engage in real-world, hands-on experiences that provide different learning opportunities from those that can be achieved in a traditional classroom. By doing so, the BCSE supports the University's mission to educate students for a lifetime of critical thinking and strong leadership characterized by continued intellectual exploration, creativity and imagination.

Additionally, data collected from our scientific field stations, such as our water monitoring stations at Danville and Milton, are part of the government's Early Warning System, which can alert agencies of a potential harm to public supply from a toxic spill or terrorist activity.
