Freeman Office of Student Services
The Academic Support Hub for Freeman Students

The mission of our team is simple. We want students to build the competencies and connections to thrive at Bucknell. That's what makes us happy.
We know student needs are varied, and they change across their four years in Freeman. Students are learning to be scholars, they are learning to be adults, they are learning to take important steps toward their future careers. We've been through it all and are eager to help students navigate all the different experiences that can emerge along their paths.
Advising Support
Not sure about requirements? Trying to figure out how to plan for majors, minors, or concentration themes? Let's talk! We are experts in Freeman's curriculum and can add a second dimension to the advising support students get from their faculty academic advisors.
Academic Coaching
Managing a course load is different in college than it is in high school. Bucknell students are here because they are high achievers, but much is demanded of them in our classrooms. Learning how to grapple with the increased rigor will make students' semesters here more productive and less stressful. With assistance (and follow up) in things like time management, test prep, study strategies for maximum effectiveness, and more, coaching can improve performance.
Life Coaching
Everyone needs a home port — a place they can go to connect with people who are familiar, trustworthy, honest, resourceful, and caring. No matter what arises in a student's life, we are some of the best listeners they can hope for. If anyone needs a little wind beneath their wings, we're here.
Resource Referrals
Don't know who to call or where to go? Come to us! We can help with so many issues, but we will also know who to go to for additional guidance.
New Student Support
We put a lot of thought into initiatives that are particularly helpful to incoming students. For example, our all-star team of Freeman Fellows, a select group of junior and senior student mentors, are eager to connect with their small cohorts to ease the transition to college life for the incoming class. They also serve as teaching assistants in MGMT 100, a half-credit course required of all first year Freeman students that introduces what it means to be in the Freeman College of Management. So, first year students will see their Freeman Fellow mentor every week! Fellows' support extends to engineering students enrolled in the Engineering/Management dual degree program as well.
