For students who want careers in the fast-advancing field of biomedicine, the cell biology and biochemistry program is a perfect fit.
You'll work with both biology and chemistry professors cloning genes, isolating proteins and purifying nucleic acids. Majors have undergraduate research opportunities usually afforded to graduate students. Bucknell's labs are outfitted with cool equipment, like atomic microscopes, mass spectrometers, including a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, and gas chromatography systems.
