Financial Aid: International Students

Early Decision I deadline: Nov. 15

Early Decision II and Regular Decision deadline: Jan. 15

Bucknell enrolls students from all world regions and countries and from all types of socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of our international students receive financial support from their families and sponsors. Others rely on funds from Bucknell for part of their tuition, room and board.

Bucknell's international student comprehensive fee for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters is $82,570.

This fee includes tuition, room, board, insurance, student activity fee, an estimated cost for books, supplies and extra spending money. (It does not include travel.)

A college education is an important investment in your future, but we understand that not every family has sufficient funding to attend Bucknell. We do have some scholarships for international students. These scholarships, however, are limited and competitive.

Cost for International Students

The following items are included in the educational expense budget (Title IV and Bucknell programs) for a resident, full-time undergraduate student at Bucknell University for the 2022-23 academic year.

  • $61,408: Tuition (two semesters, full-time)
  • $338: Student Activity Fee
  • $9,490: Standard double room
  • $5,868: Approximate meal plan cost
  • $2,400: Approximate Health insurance
  • $900: Books/supplies
  • $2,166: Incidentals
  • $82,570: Annual cost for one student*

*This amount represents the costs a student must certify in order for Bucknell to issue the immigration document. It does not include expenses for travel.

International Student Financial Aid Application

In order to apply for aid, students must submit the International Student Application for Financial Assistance (ISAFA). A certified original bank statement is also required to establish proof of financial support as required for the student visa process (see a sample bank statement here). Due to yearly increases in tuition and fees, we recommend that students increase the amount of family support by an estimated 3.5% for each year of study.

The CSS PROFILE is not required for international students.

Even if you do not plan to apply for financial aid, you must complete and submit the Financial Certification Document along with a certified bank statement.

Please complete the International Student Application for Financial Assistance (ISAFA)

All financial documents should be submitted to the Admissions Office (not the Financial Aid Office) by uploading them though your admission portal or by emailing them to appdocs@bucknell.edu.
