Three Ways You Can Help Admissions

• Represent Bucknell at College Fairs

  College fairs are important events that introduce high schoolers to college representatives and help them make one of the most important decisions of their lives: where to attend college. Since Admissions staff can't attend every college fair around the country, Alumni Admissions Volunteers play a vital role in broadening Bucknell's reach. As an Alumni Admissions Volunteer, you can help introduce Bucknell to talented young people near you.

  Your Responsibilities

  Attend a fair that is close to your home and speak to high school students who may be interested in Bucknell.

   

• Attend Regional Admissions Events

  The Office of Admissions hosts regional receptions for prospective students and their families in the fall and spring semesters. As a Bucknell graduate, your involvement brings richness and immediacy to the message our Admissions staff communicates at these events. Alumni can provide stories and sentiments about Bucknell that are unique and meaningful.

  Your Responsibilities

  Help staff regional receptions as greeters or panelists, depending on the format for the event.

   

• Refer and Recommend a Student

  We ask our volunteers to always be on the lookout for outstanding students in their area. If you know or recently met an excellent student in your community, please use this opportunity to assist in our admissions recruitment efforts!

  Your Responsibilities

  • Refer students to Bucknell by sharing your college experience and suggesting that the student research and visit Bucknell.
  • If you are so inclined, you may also recommend a student to the Office of Admissions. Your thoughts and impressions of the student will be included in the student's application file and will be very helpful to our staff in the evaluation process.
