Benefits of an Externship
Students who do externships gain an early exposure to career and industry paths. Taking part will help you make decisions about your future major, the types of internships you want to pursue and the career you want after graduation. You'll also be able to network with professionals, alumni, parents and other individuals.
Hosts gain a closer connection to the Bucknell community and opportunities for career networking. In addition, the program can assist with early identification of future student employees and/or interns.
Become an Externship Host
Are you interested in hosting a one- or two-day job-shadowing experience? Complete our externship sponsor form to indicate your willingness to offer short-term externship to sophomore students during winter break.
Hosting an extern requires a short time commitment, typically two days during winter break. Externship hosts select the specific dates and provide:
- An itinerary for the experience (samples provided)
