After the 30 minute Preview, you’ll have the opportunity to tour the campus with a student Admissions Ambassador. You and your family are welcome and should plan to spend around 2 hours on campus.
Bucknell is beautiful and has exceptional facilities. Your student Admissions Ambassador will show you campus and answer your questions about life inside and outside the classroom.
The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
In addition to our regular tours, Bucknell also offers special facility tours so you can get a more in-depth understanding of our programs and facilities.
We offer facility tours for the following areas: arts, athletics, science and engineering.
- Arts Facility Tour
Interested in the performing or visual arts? Join a tour guide on a backstage look at the Samek Museum, Harvey Powers Theatre, the keyboard music lab, the Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall and the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. Meet your tour guide in the Office of Admissions lobby in Freas Hall. This tour is offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and lasts approximately 30 minutes.
- Athletics Facility Tour
The Kenneth G. Langone Athletics and Recreation Center (KLARC) is home to a wide variety of facilities available to all students (it's also where we house our trophies!). Whether you play on an intramural, club or Division I team, work out on your own, take a class or cheer on the Bison, the KLARC is for you. The tour includes a walk through of the Gerhard Fieldhouse, Davis Gym, Krebs Family Fitness Center, Kinney Natatorium and Sojka Pavilion. Meet your tour guide in the Office of Admissions lobby in Freas Hall. This tour is offered daily and lasts approximately 20 minutes.
- Science Facility Tour
If you're interested in pursuing a major the sciences, this tour will give you a glimpse of our extensive facilities and resources. The tour visits several lab spaces in the O'Leary Center (geology & environmental geosciences and psychology), Olin Science Center (mathematics and physics & astronomy), and the Rooke Science Center (biology, cell biology & biochemistry and chemistry). Other science disciplines will be discussed during the tour, including animal behavior and neuroscience. Meet your tour guide in the Office of Admissions lobby in Freas Hall. This tour is offered Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and lasts approximately 40 minutes.
- Engineering Facility Tour
Learn about the benefits of an engineering education at a liberal arts university and see some of our impressive facilities on this student-led tour of the College of Engineering. Meet your tour guide in the first-floor lobby of the Dana Engineering building during the academic year (September-May). This tour is offered daily and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Meet a current student for lunch at Bostwick Marketplace, Bucknell’s main dining hall. You’ll eat, enjoy a casual conversation and experience everyday student life. Lunch visits are for prospective students only, but your family or other guests can have lunch in the Bison (our a la carte facility) or in downtown Lewisburg. Feel free to ask for suggestions at the Admissions office.
A Day in the Life
Are you a high school junior or senior who wants to see what a typical day at Bucknell is like? Attend class, meet faculty, have lunch with a current student and take a personalized campus tour.
A Day in the Life visits are available Monday through Friday when classes are in session. Plan on being on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., however, depending on class availability, your visit could start as early as 7:30 a.m., and end as late as 5 p.m.
Specific academic interests are featured on select days. If you cannot visit on the day your interest is featured, please consider our other daily visit options.
Note: A Day in the Life must be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance of your visit.
We are happy to arrange special tours for groups of 10 or more. You will need to make arrangements at least 10 days in advance of the requested tour date.
