Dual Program in Liberal Arts & Engineering

The five-year Program in Liberal Arts & Engineering allows students to combine any bachelor of science degree program in the College of Engineering with any bachelor of arts degree program from the College of Arts & Sciences. Graduates of the program are awarded a single degree of bachelor of science in their engineering major and bachelor of arts in their liberal arts major.

Students in this program must fulfill the course distribution and major requirements for both of their majors. Suggested course sequences for each five-year program are available from the Office of the Dean of Engineering.

How to Apply

Students enrolled in the College of Engineering major may apply to enter this dual program at any time during their first five semesters. Students in the College of Arts & Sciences should apply no later than their third semester of study in order to graduate in five years, due to the sequential nature of the courses in Bucknell’s engineering programs. Enrollment space and financial aid availability may be limited.
