Summer Student Resources

Two students walking on Malesardi Quad at Bucknell University

Welcome to the summer at Bucknell! Campus continues to buzz with activity during the summer months, with undergraduate researchers and Summer Session students, academic and athletics camps, and alumni and corporate groups all visiting and staying at Bucknell at various times. As a student on campus during the summer, you'll have access to many of the same resources and opportunities you'll find during the academic year, although some offices may be closed, have limited hours or operate differently during the summer. To help you navigate your summer on campus, Bucknell has compiled the resources and links that follow.

Please note that some links will not reflect summer hours until May, and that some services may be unavailable or operate on reduced schedules until Summer Session begins in mid–June.

Housing

All students who need summer housing should fill out the Summer Housing Application in myHOME. For more information about summer housing, please review the summer housing page.

Access to residence halls is also more restricted during the summer than during the academic year:

  • You will only have card access to your assigned residence hall.
  • Your card access may not work in all places that it does during the academic year and some buildings and spaces may be under construction during the summer. If you need access to an academic building or space, please contact your program coordinator, who will contact Card Services.
  • If you need a repair to your residence hall room, email work order requests to pplant@bucknell.edu.

A Summer of Discovery

Research at Bucknell doesn't take a summer break. Bucknell students can spend their summer conducting experiments, delving into archives and exploring creative questions to make meaningful discoveries. Bucknell's Office of Undergraduate Fellowships & Research connects students with programs both within the University and with external organizations that advance what they've learned in the classroom and enable them to develop new skill sets that will benefit their future studies and careers.
